Every release below says what I actually did on it, and whether it was my own record or someone else’s. Mastering credits get vague fast in this scene. These won’t.

Client work

DINOSAUR CRUISE
An incredibly creative piece with standout percussion and deep lows. The depth in the low end and harmonic weight was due to the transformer stack on the chain.
–>
Lighthouse
This is a beautiful solo piano piece. The record is an excellent illustration on how analog brings deep low mids and incredible texture to a record. It was a pleasure to master. The SPL Iron & PQ really suited this piece well.
My own releases
Listed separately, and deliberately. These are records I wrote, played, and mastered myself. They demonstrate the room, and ears but they are not client credits and I’m not going to blur the two.
–>
THE KILLING FROST
This has that sound- pure weight and body with crystal highs. The mastering truly brought this EP to new heights. I am incredibly proud to have this in the catelogue.
–>
STONE
Haunting guitars wrap eerie vocals with beautiful acoustic guitar work as the main character descends into madness in part two of the STEEL & STONE double album. Mastering really brought out the harmonic content throughout the record.
–>
STEEL
Part one of a double concept album concept in dealing with rage and revenge as our hero is tempted by evil entities. Huge guitars drive this album- saturation forward and aggressive brought forth by the analog mastering.
–>
The Light
A minimalist rock/fusion track with only 2 mics used. The analog mastering really allowed the minimal instrumentation to shine.
–>
Atmospherics
This record was created during my prime exploration phase with analog hardware (long live the Vari Mu Tube Compressor!). Particularly for digital sounds, analog brings them to the stratosphere, revealing their soul.
–>
Visions
This formative record cemented my love of analog forever and not exist without my inability to compromise in my search for the sound in my head. Long live the ‘record’ and analog! Singles simply will not do.
–>
Noctilucent Clouds
A striped down soulful jazz single captured the heart of guitar jazz lyricism enhanced with a beautiful sheen.
In their words
“Spacious, clear, and BIG. Those electric piano chords come in like Poseidon himself”
Nathan, Full Body Butterflies
How these credits get made
Clients agree to carry a mastering credit on release โ in the metadata, the liner notes, or the Bandcamp credits, wherever mastering credits normally sit. It costs nothing and it’s how a room like this gets built. The exception is white-label work for studios and engineers, agreed in writing before a project starts, where no credit appears at all.
The before-and-after comparisons on this site are published with permission. Clients grant the right to use short excerpts of a released master alongside the original mix, and any client can decline that use before work begins.
